HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men's squash team began play at the Dartmouth Fall Classic by taking on Navy, Friday evening. The Big Green came out with a bang, blanking the Midshipmen, 9-0.
The only match that went past one game, was at No. 7 where Robbie Maycock (Devonshire, Bermuda) had to go to four to defeat Thomas McNamara. McNamara took the first set, 11-8 but Maycock bounced back and took the second by the same score, then the third, 11-2 and finally the fourth, 11-9.
Chris Jung (Seattle, Wash.) at No. 3 had his first set go to 12-10 as several Navy players were able to hang with Dartmouth early. But Jung managed to come out of that point and take the next two, 11-9, 11-6.
Chris Hanson (Greenwich, Conn.) started things off by winning at No. 1, with Nick Sisodia (Chicago, Ill.) winning at No. 2. Brian O'Toole (Short Hills, N.J.) was victorious at No. 4 as was Michael Lewis (Santa Barbara, Calif.) at No. 5, Luke Lee (Exeter, N.H.) at No. 6, Fletcher Pease (Cincinnati, Ohio) at No. 8 and Ted Schroeder (Wynnewood, Pa.) at No. 9.
The Big Green continues on Saturday at home with its Fall Classic by taking on Stanford at 1 p.m. before squaring off with Bowdoin at 5 p.m.
