CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - The fifth-seeded Dartmouth women's tennis team kicked off the ECAC Winter Championship with a 5-2 upset over fourth-seeded Brown at Harvard yesterday. Brown came into the tournament as the country's No. 63 ranked team. This marks Dartmouth's second win over a nationally ranked team in one week, as the Big Green topped No. 69 Boston University last weekend. Dartmouth remains undefeated at 6-0.

After dropping the doubles point, Dartmouth fought back to win five of the six singles matches. At No. 1 Scott, the eighth-ranked player in the ITA Northeast Region, defeated Casey Herzberg, the region's No. 2 player, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4. At No. 2 Leonard downed Brown's former No. 1 player, Aboubakare, 6-0, 6-4. Dartmouth also got straight set wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles from Winingham and Adler, while Smyser put the final point on the board for Dartmouth with a three-set win at No. 5.
Dartmouth continues today a 2 p.m. as the Big Green faces the top-seeded Tigers of Princeton.
