HANOVER, N.H. - Freshman Connor Reilly (New York, N.Y.) beat out senior captain Muhammed Abdul-Shakoor (Stone Mountain, Ga.) in the 60m dash, but Abdul-Shakoor got revenge in the 200 meters as the two led the Dartmouth men's track and field team at the Dartmouth Indoor Classic.
Reilly won the 60m dash by a fingernail as he posted a time of 6.93 seconds, while Abdul-Shakoor crossed the line at 6.94 seconds in the closest race of the afternoon. Abdul-Shakoor, however, was able to get his win in the 200 meters with a time of 22.54 seconds.
Senior captain Ted Lesher (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) continues to impress in his final indoor season, winning both the 60m hurdles and the triple jump. Lesher won his sprint event with a time of 8.39 seconds and collected a mark of 14.67 meters (48-01.75) in the triple jump to come away with the victory.
Junior Tyler Ford (Penfield, N.Y.) did his part with a first-place finish in the 500 meters, crossing the line at 1:06.34. Also, the Dartmouth 4 x 400 meter relay team took home a first-place time of 3:28.56 to round out the scoring for the Big Green.
Dartmouth will be back in action next weekend as the Big Green travels to Boston for the Valentine's Invitational, with the two-day event beginning on Feb. 12 at Boston University.
