Three-Round Record Falls for Women at Yale

Women Improve by 26 Strokes on Final Day of Harvard Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — After setting a team record with a 305 in the opening round of the Yale Invitational on Saturday, the Dartmouth women's golf team finished off the tournament with a 314 (+26) to shoot 939 (+75). That score is the lowest three-round score for the Big Green women ever as freshman Sarah Knapp (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) finished in a tie for 26th place with a 232 (+16). Dartmouth placed ninth overall in the 14-team field as host Yale won its own tournament by 13 strokes over Penn by shooting 22-over par (886).

Seo Hee Moon kept the medalist honors in New Haven as well by posting a six-under par 210, including a 67 (-5) on Sunday for the low round of the tournament.

Knapp was a consistent performer for the Big Green, carding a 79-76-79 for her total of 16-over par. Junior Heather Roland (Newtown Square, Pa.) equaled Knapp's 79 on Sunday to finish the tournament with an 18-over 234 in a tie for 33rd. Right on her heels was sophomore Julie Campbell (Bozeman, Mont.) who had the low round of the day for the Big Green with a 76 for a 235 (+19) for the three rounds in a tie for 37th.

Also participating for Dartmouth were senior Katie Gulemi (Fairfield, Conn.) who carded a 76-89-80—245 (+29) and junior Kathleen Quirk (Kansas City, Mo.) with a 81-82-86—249 (+33).

The women's team next participates in the ECAC Tournament next Saturday, Oct. 2, at Egg Harbor, N.J.
