SOUTH KENT, Conn. — The Dartmouth men's golf team blistered Bull's Bridge Golf Course in South, Kent, Conn., firing a three-over 291 in the opening round of the Hartford Hawk Invitational on Monday. Only the University of Connecticut posted a lower round with a 290, leaving the Big Green just one stroke back.
Three of Dartmouth's participants finished among the top 10 in the 85-player field, including junior
Peter Williamson (Hanover, N.H.) who is in a three-way tie for first with a 71 (-1). Both senior co-captain
Davis Mullany (Great Barrington, Mass.) and sophomore
James Pleat (Nashua, N.H.) carded a one-over 73 with four others to tie for eighth place.
Rounding out the Big Green team score was sophomore
Owen Lynch (Rumford, R.I.) in a tie for 14th with 74 (+2).
The second round was suspended in the middle of the round due to inclement weather and the encroaching darkness. The round resumes again Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. before the tournament is completed with round three.
