HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth men's track and field team hosted Maine and Vermont on Saturday and came away with the top team score. The Big Green finished with 94 points, Maine placed second with 54 points and Vermont ended the meet with 29 points.
In the field events, Dartmouth earned three first place finishes. In the weight throw, senior David Irving (Manchester, N.H.) made a 18.47-meter throw to take the top spot. Freshman Dom Filiano (Lebanon, N.H.) won the shot put with a throw of 15.17 meters. Junior Ian McAfee (Nashua, N.H.) placed first in the pole vault at 4.42 meters.
In the running events, freshman Jalil Bishop (Twinsburg, Ohio) was the star of the show. Bishop took the top spot in the 200 at 22.54. He followed that up with a win in the 400 with a time of 50.08. In the 60-meter dash, sophomore Connor Reilly (Nisskayuna, N.Y.) earned a first place finish with a time of 6.93. In the 800, senior Ben Bramhall (Plymouth, Mass.) won with a time of 1:57.24.
In the distance events, freshman Jamie Mitchell (Bedford Hills, N.Y.) won the 1000 meter with a time of 2:29.41. In the 3000-meter run, junior Ethan Shaw (Falmouth, Maine) placed first at 8:19.59.
Dartmouth returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 22, when it competes against Columbia and Yale in New York.
