Bio
Ian McAfee is a graduate of Nashua North High School where he earned two letters in cross country, three in winter track, and four in spring track. McAfee served as a captain his junior and senior years, and was the Pole Vault State Champion both years as well. Additionally, his last two years of High School Ian earned First Team All-State honors in both winter and spring track.
In the classroom, Ian was the School Senate Vice President and a member of the Jazz Band. At Dartmouth, Ian plan to study Chemical Engineering and pursue a career in that field.
Ian is the son of Kevin and Nancy McAfee and he has two brothers and one sister. His father, Kevin, played baseball at Keene State from 1974-78, and was a team captain.

Q & A with Ian
Why did you choose Dartmouth?
I chose Dartmouth partly because of the small size and beautiful atmosphere, but most importantly because of all the incredible people I met on my recruiting trip and subsequent visits.
How long have you been competing in track and what got you interested?
Since I was a freshman in high school. That winter I got cut from the ski team, so I decided I would try out track and field.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
Pretty much the only movies I watch are 70s and 80s horror, and I used to perform slam poetry.
What are your future plans, if any?
