The No. 7 Big Green is now 8-3 overall and 0-2 in Ivy League play while the No. 11 Ephs fell to 6-7 on the season.
The top four matches went the way of Dartmouth as all but Nick Sisodia (Chicago, Ill.) at No. 2 were completed in three games. Sisodia seemed to win his first two games rather easily, 11-6 and 11-7 but Will Gruner bounced back to take the third game, 12-10. Sisodia was not to be denied as he was able to close the door with an 11-9 win in the fourth game.
Luke Lee (Exeter, N.H.) at No. 7 and Alex Kurth (Tenafly, N.J.) at No. 9 were each also taken to four games by their opponents. Lee could not overcome a two-game deficit as he lost his match but Kurth, who lost the first game, rallied to take the next three to win his third match of the year.
Winners on the day besides Sisodia and Kurth included Chris Hanson (Greenwich, Conn.) at No. 1, Chris Jung (Seattle, Wash.) at No. 3, Michael Lewis (Santa Barbara, Calif.) at No. 4, Robbie Maycock (Devonshire, Bermuda) at No. 6 and Fletcher Pease (Cincinnati, Ohio) at No. 8.
The Big Green will be back in action on Jan. 29 traveling to Cornell and then on Jan. 30 at Rochester.
