LAST MEETING: Dartmouth fell to Columbia in the annual meeting last season, 5-2. Lisa Masini (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Maya Herm (Bethesda, Md.) scored the team's two goals in the loss in New York on Oct. 24, 2010.

LAST MEETING: These two teams last met in the 2008 season with the Eagles earning the 2-1 win at home in Newton, Mass. Kelly McHenry scored the lone Dartmouth goal in that Oct. 12 matchup.

HANOVER N.H. - Sometimes it's good to have a rest, but the Dartmouth field hockey team has been waiting to avenge last weekend's 5-1 loss at Yale for nearly six days before getting its next opportunity to play again. The Big Green will welcome two opponents to Hanover Saturday and Sunday as Columbia and Boston College head to Chase Field as a part of Homecoming Weekend. Dartmouth will play the Lions in the first matchup of the weekend when they meet at noon on Saturday, while the Eagles come in Sunday for a 2 p.m. contest.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
Columbia comes to Hanover sporting a 6-6 overall record and a 3-1 mark in Ivy play this season. A 2-1 nonconference win at home against Virginia Commonwealth pushed the Lions to the .500 mark for the first time since the second game of the season. Wins over Brown (3-1), Cornell (3-1) and Penn (5-1) and a double-overtime loss at Princeton (3-2) have the team in a five-way tie for first place at 3-1 in the Ivy League. Gabby Kozlowski leads the team with eight goals and 16 points, while Paige Simmons and Desi Scherf are tied with four assists for the most on the team. Christie O'Hara has played and started in goal 10 times this season, posting a 4-6 mark and .759 save percentage.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Boston College ended a two-game skid with a 2-1 win over No. 8 New Hampshire in its most recent contest Sunday afternoon. The one-goal victory came after losses at Northeastern (2-1) and ACC opponent North Carolina (2-0). The Eagles will play Friday night at home against Syracuse before making their way to Hanover for Sunday's contest. Courtney Travener and Carla Tamer share the team lead with eight goals apiece. Tavener and Jacqui Moorfield also have six assists to lead BC, giving Tavener a team-best 22 points this season. Nicole Barry has played a vast majority of the time in goal for her team and is the goalkeeper of record in all 15 games this season, posting a goals-against average of 1.79.

UNFAMILIAR GROUNDS
For the first time all season, the Big Green lost an Ivy League contest with a 5-1 defeat at Yale last Saturday. Dartmouth scored the opening goal of the game with the 10th of the season from freshman Ali Savage (Orange, New South Wales, Australia), but was unable to put another past the Yale goalkeeper.

FAMILIAR FOES
When the Eagles and Big Green take to the field on Sunday afternoon, assistant coach Kristine Stigas will look across the field and see a team she suited up for just two years ago. A former Co-ACC Player of the Year in 2009, Stigas helped lead her team to an NCAA Tournament berth that season and was one of the best goalkeepers in the country as a senior. Sunday will mark the first time she will have to coach against her former team.

BACK ON THE RIGHT TRACK
After starting the season with a nine-game point streak, senior co-captain Kelly Hood (Berlin, N.H.) has not registered a point in the last two games and in three of the last four for Dartmouth. The team's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to BU on Oct. 7 has been the only point for Hood in the month of October. However, despite her lack of point production as of late, Hood is still second in the league in points (27), points per game (2.08) goals (11) and goals per game (0.85), illustrating just how dominating her early-season play really was.

100 AND COUNTING
Head coach Amy Fowler became just the second coach in program history to reach the 100-win mark at Dartmouth with the team's 6-1 win over Holy Cross on Sept. 25. Fowler joins Mary Corrigan (1977-92) as the only other head coach in Dartmouth field hockey history to earn 100 victories. Corrigan finished with a record of 126-111-28 (.528) in 16 seasons, while Fowler is currently 102-104 in her 12th season as the Big Green's head coach.

LOG JAM
With the 5-1 loss at Yale, combined with the rest of the weekend's outcomes, Dartmouth is now in a five-way tie for first place in the Ivy League standings. Harvard, Yale, Columbia and Princeton all have the same 3-1 league mark as the Big Green. Dartmouth still has games remaining against Harvard and Columbia, while taking a crucial win with the Tigers and the recent loss to the Bulldogs also on the schedule.

LOOKING AHEAD
Following the Homecoming Weekend slate of games, Dartmouth will head out on the road for its final trip of the season as it takes on Harvard next Saturday, Oct. 29 in Cambridge, Mass. The Big Green will wrap-up the 2011 regular season with a home game on Nov. 6 against Cornell.
