HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth coed and women's sailing teams moved up in the national rankings as they prepare for the Atlantic Coast Championships this weekend. On Thursday, Sailing World released its college rankings and the Big Green's coed team is sixth and the women's team is fifth.
In the coed rankings, Dartmouth received 244 points, including two first-place votes. Yale is ranked first in the nation with 355 points and 15 first-place votes. Charleston received the other first-place votes and is second in the rankings with 334 points. In the previous rankings released, the Big Green were ranked 12th.
On the women's side, Dartmouth earned 179 points and three first-place votes. The Bulldogs are the top ranked team with 253 points and 10 first-place votes. Connecticut College is ranked second and received two first-place votes and Rhode Island is third and had two first-place votes. Brown is ranked fourth in the poll. In the previous rankings released, the Big Green were 13th.
The Dartmouth coed and women's team conclude their fall seasons this weekend at the Atlantic Coast Championships. The coed championship takes place at MIT on Saturday and the women's championship takes place at the SUNY Maritime on Saturday.
