BOSTON, MASS. — The Dartmouth men's track and field team competed at the Valentine's Invitational hosted by Boston University on Saturday. Sophomore Connor Reilly (Niskayuna, N.Y.) and junior Ethan Shaw (Falmouth, Maine) each won an event to lead the team.
Reilly made his mark in the 60-meter dash. He finished with a 6.90, which tied for fifth fastest time in school history. Reilly already has the top four times. In the 5000 meters, Shaw took the top spot with a time of 14:10.24. He finished two seconds ahead of the second-place finisher from Cornell.
In the 3000 meters, sophomore Phil Royer (Portsmouth, R.I.) finished in second place at 8:08.00. North Carolina State's Adam Henken won the race at 8:07.33. Sophomore Anthony Romaniw (Hamilton, Ont.) took third in the 800 meters. He finished with a time of 1:50.69.
In the field events, freshman Josh Cyphers (Grantham, N.H.) placed fourth with a mark of 4.40 meters (14-05.25 feet). Freshman Ben Nollet (Storrs, Conn.) tied for fifth place in the high jump at 1.93 meters (6-04.00 feet).
The Big Green next compete at the USTAF New England Championship on Feb. 20 at Boston, Mass.
