HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth men's track and field team hosted the Dartmouth Classic on Saturday, and four individuals took first place in their events.
In the sprinting events, the Big Green had multiple runners finish in the top two. In the 60-meter dash, sophomore Connor Reilly (Niskayuna, N.Y.) took the top spot at 6.86 and senior Muhammed Abdul-Shakoor (Stone Mountain, Ga.) placed second at 6.98. Adbul-shakoor's day was not done as he crossed the finish line first in the 200 dash at 22.64. In the 400-meter dash, freshman Jalil Bishop (Twinsburg, Ohio) finished first with sophomore Brendin Beaulieu-Jones (Vernon, Conn.) taking second at 50.35.
In the field events, junior Ian McAfee (Nashua, N.H.) had the top pole vault mark of 4.57 meters (15-00.00 feet). In the throwing events, senior David Irving (Manchester, N.H.) placed second in the shot put at 15.38 meters (50-05.50 feet), and took second in the weight throw at 18.73 meters (61-05.50 feet).
Dartmouth next competes at the Valentine's Invitational in Boston, Mass. on Feb. 11-12.
