MEDFORD, MASS. — The Dartmouth men's track and field team competed at Tufts on Saturday and finished fourth in the Snowflake Classic. Tufts took the top spot with 167 points, Springfield placed second with 145 points, Harvard finished third with 78 points and the Big Green finished fourth with 65 points.
Dartmouth did well in the running events and took the top two spots in the 110 hurdles. Sophomore Jacob Evanter (Marblehead, Mass.) finished first at 15.24, and senior Christopher Fletcher (Annapolis, Md.) placed second at 15.34. In the 400 meters, the Big Green had competitors place fourth, fifth and sixth. Senior Tyler Ford (Penfield, N.Y.) crossed the finish line fourth at 51.07, sophomore Kevin Crowley (Barrington, Ill.) took fifth at 51.25 and sophomore Brendin Beaulieu-Jones (Vernon, Conn.) placed sixth at 51.29. Crowley also took fourth in the 200 meters at 23.74.
In the mid-distance events, freshman John Bleday (Westwood, Mass.) took second in the 800 with a time of 1:58.34.
Senior Donald Kephart (Lafayette, Calif.) had a top-five finish in two throwing events. He placed third in the discus at 41.93 meters and finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 13.57 meters. Sophomore Tom Vorhies (Rockaway, N.J.) earned a third-place finish in the shot put at 14.57 meters. In the javelin, senior Fernando Rodriguez-Villa (Wellesley, Mass.) took fourth at 14.57 meters.
Dartmouth next competes at the UNH Invitational on Saturday, April 9.
