DURHAM, N.H. — The Dartmouth men's track and field team had nine winners at the UNH Invitational on Saturday.
Sophomore Connor Reilly (Niskayuna, N.Y.) dominated the sprinting events, winning the 100 and 200. In the 100, he finished with a time of 10.84 and crossed the finish line with a time of 22.06 in the 200. Also in the 100, senior Muhammed Abdul-Shakoor (Stone Mountain, Ga.) placed second at 11.15 and sophomore Tyrone DeSpenza (Baton Rouge, La.) took third at 11.20. Abdul-Shakoor also finished second in the 200 at 22.35.
The Big Green took five of the top six spots in the 1500 meters. Freshman John Bleday (Westwood, Mass.) crossed the finish line first at 3:57.41, senior Dwayne Alexis (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was third at 3:59.51, sophomore Mike Danaher (Clifton Park, N.Y.) took fourth at 3:59.71, freshman Matthew Pierce (Ogdesnburg, N.Y.) placed fifth at 3:59.73 and junior Graham Keggi finished sixth at 3:59.92.
In the 400 meters, Dartmouth again took five of the top six spots. Freshman Jalil Bishop (Twinsburg, Ohio) earned the top spot at 49.53, junior Evan Bryant (Baltimore, Md.) placed third at 51.08, senior Tyler Ford (Penfield, N.Y.) finished fourth at 51.23, sophomore Kevin Crowley (Barrington, Ill.) was fifth at 51.35 and junior Hector Reynoso (Brownfield, Maine) crossed the finish line sixth at 51.51.
Sophomore Brendin Beaulieu-Jones (Vernon, Conn.) won the 400 hurdles with a time of 55.64. Senior Joe Lonek (Epping, N.H.) took second in the event at 56.26. In the 110 hurdles, sophomore Jacob Evanter (Marblehead, Mass.) finished second at 15.59. In the 5000 meters, junior Dylan Summers crossed the finish line first at 14:53.83. In the 3000-meter steeplechase, junior Jake Shoemaker (Sudbury, Mass.) placed first at 9:22.52, and freshman Henry Sterling (South Freeport, Maine) took third at 9:35.80. The quartet of Beaulieu-Jones, Bishop, Bryant and Ford won the 4x400 relay at 3:20.35.
In the field events, senior David Irving (Manchester, N.H.) and freshman Dom Filiano (Lebanon, N.H.) both placed in multiple events. In the discus, Irving took the top spot with a throw of 49.53 meters (162-06.00 feet) and Filiano was third at 42.97 meters (141-00.00 feet). In the shot put, Irving was second at 16.02 meters (52-06.75 feet) and Filiano placed third at 15.80 meters (51-10.00 feet). Irving also took second in the hammer throw at 59.06 meters (193-09.00 feet). Freshman Josh Cyphers (Grantham, N.H.) placed third in the pole vault at 4.40 meters (14-05.25 feet).
