Jankowski, Mullany Lead Dartmouth on Day Two

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Senior Davis Mullany (Great Barrington, Mass.) and sophomore Andrew Jankowski (Elkins, N.H.) provided the Dartmouth men's golf team with a five-over 76 each to lead the Big Green in the second round of the Ivy League Championship held at Galloway National Golf Course.

Dartmouth fell back a spot in the team standings to fifth place after shooting a 315 (+31) to bring its two-day total to 629 (+61). Both Princeton and Columbia are tied for third, just three strokes ahead of the Big Green. Penn will take a slim one-stroke lead ahead of Yale into the final round with a 619 (+51), with Dartmouth just 10 strokes back.

Although junior Peter Williamson (Hanover, N.H.) followed up his first-round 69 with a seven-over 78 today, he maintained his spot atop the leaderboard at five-over par. His lead is down to just one stroke, however, ahead of Penn's Scott Williams, who posted the low round for the day with a 74 (+3).

Both Mullany and Jankowski struggled at the start of the day, playing the front nine at five-over par. But Mullany started to turn things around on that par-five ninth hole with a birdie, and after a bogey on 10, birdied the 11th and 12th holes as well. He played the final 11 holes of the day at one-under par, while Jankowski was even on the back nine with a pair of birdies and bogeys. Jankowski finished the day in a tie for fourth with a 152 (+10).

Williamson kept his composure after taking a double bogey on the fourth hole, making par on the fifth and sixth holes before scoring a birdie on seven. But with five bogeys over the final 11 holes, he saw his lead dwindle down to one stroke.

The final score to go toward the team total was provided by sophomore James Pleat (Nashua, N.H.) with an 85 (+14). The fifth member of the team, junior Teddy Overton (Paradise Valley, Ariz.) carded an 88 (+17).

The final round will begin on Sunday morning starting at 7:30 a.m. Dartmouth's group will begin at 8:15 with Williamson going off the first tee at 8:51 a.m.
