PRINCETON, N.J. — The Dartmouth men's track and field team competed at the IC4A's this past weekend at Princeton. The Big Green took 18th in the event out of 49 teams with 17 points. Duke won the competition with 74.50 points, George Mason placed second at 61 points and Albany finished third with 55 points.
Senior Tom Robbins (Evanston, Ill.) led Dartmouth with a third-place finish in the 1,500 meters. Robbins crossed the finish line at 3:46.76. In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, sophomore Phil Royer (Portsmouth, R.I.) took fourth at 8:59.75.
The Big Green had three top-10 finishes in the field events. Senior David Irving (Manchester, N.H.) placed sixth in the hammer throw at 59.74 meters (196-00.00 feet). Irving also took ninth in the discus with a throw of 49.10 meters (161-01.00 feet). In the javelin, senior Chris Roe (Berwyn, Pa.) finished 10th with a mark of 59.05 meters (193-09.00 feet).
Dartmouth next competes at the Twilight Meet on Saturday at Waltham, Mass.
