INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The NCAA Division I Men's Golf Committee has selected the teams and individuals to participate in the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships, and Dartmouth junior Peter Williamson was among those chosen to compete as an individual. Williamson will play in the regional hosted by Virginia Tech at The Pete Dye River Course in Radford, Va., on May 19-21.
The Virginia Tech Regional is one of six across the country, and of the 13 teams and 10 individuals not on those teams, only the top five teams and top individual outside of the those teams will advance to the finals at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Okla., on May 31-June 5.
Williamson won medalist honors at the Ivy League Men's Golf Championships two weeks ago for the second time in three years to earn this honor. The two-time Ivy League Player of the Year is the only Ivy golfer to compete as an individual; the league champion, Yale, will compete as a team at the site.
