OWINGS MILLS, MD. – The Dartmouth men's golf team concluded their spring season on Sunday, shooting a team total of 300 in the final round of the Ivy League Championship to finish in fifth place.
The 2013 Ivy League Championship is a three-day, 54-hole event contested at the 6,908 yard, par-70 Caves Valley Golf Club.
James Pleat and Charlie Edler ended the year on high note as both finished in the top eight and received All-Ivy honors.
In his final collegiate round of golf, Pleat carded a two-over par 72 to enter the clubhouse in a tie for fourth. The fourth place finish gave the Nashua, N.H., native first team All-Ivy recognition. The senior was the low scorer all three days of the tournament for the Big Green.
Edler fired a 75 in the closing round to jump into a tie for eighth place. The top-ten finish was the second straight for Edler and it earned him second team All-Ivy recognition.
Charles Cai ended the tournament with a 75 to land in 23rd place. Harry Boling and Joey Maziar rounded out the field for Dartmouth.
Princeton shaved nine strokes off its total of 297 on Sunday to score a five stroke victory over Yale. Penn finished in third with Columbia and the Big Green rounding out the top five.
