DURHAM, N.C. – The Dartmouth men's golf team sit in 12th place after the first round of the Rod Myers Invitational at the Duke Golf Course.
The second round was halted due to extensive lightning in the area. Teams will return to the course tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. to complete the second round and the tournament will be reduced to a 36-hole event.
North Carolina leads the 12-team event with a 10-under par 278. East Carolina is in second carding a 281 and Baylor and Tulsa are tied for third with a 286. The Big Green shot a 304 in the first round and began the second round but only got through a maximum of six holes before golfer were called into the clubhouse.
Sophomore Scott Jaster and Freshman Ian Kelsey are tied for 37th place at the time of suspension. Kelsey finished the first 18 holes with a score of 74 and Jaster shot a 75. Kelsey completed six holes in the second round and is one-over par, while Jaster only played through one hole and is even par. Jaster is even on par three and par five scoring, while Kelsey is even on par four scoring and one-under on par five scoring.
Senior Charlie Edler is tied for 56th and carded a 76 in the first and is three-over par in the second round through four holes. Edler is one-over on par three scoring. Freshman Edric Wung and junior Charles Cai round out the Big Green performers shooting an 85 each. Wung is one-under on par five scoring.
