FLUSHING, N.Y. – On the first day of the main draw at the United States Tennis Association (USTA)/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Championships on Friday, eight members of the Dartmouth men's tennis team competed in both singles and doubles matches.
Senior Chris Kipouras and freshman Dovydas Sakinis defeated their opponents in a close match in the second round of doubles by a score of 8-6. Freshman Ciro Riccardi and sophomore Max Schmidt battled through their match, but ultimately fell to their opponents from Binghamton, 8-7.
In singles, freshman Aman Agarwal had a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Max Vogt of Bryant. Sophomore George Wall and freshman Max Fliegner each had close matches that went to three sets, but their opponents were able to secure victories in their respective matches.
The Big Green will return to the courts tomorrow morning with more singles matches.
