HANOVER, N.H. - Dartmouth's Ali Savage has been selected as one of just 38 players from across the country to participate in the 2014 Victory Sports Tours / National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I Senior Game.
The game will be held this year at the University of Maryland in College Park, on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 3 p.m.
Savage becomes the fourth member of the Big Green field hockey program to earn this distinction in the last five years, joining Lisa Masini '13, Kelly Hood '12 and Virginia Peisch '11.
“We are thrilled to have Ali representing Dartmouth College and our program,” head coach Amy Fowler said. “Ali has had an amazing career and is well deserving of this honor.
A unanimous All-Ivy League First-Team selection as a sophomore and junior, Savage has proven to be one of the most talented players ever to come through Hanover. She currently ranks second all-time in both points (118) and goals (47) in program history and shares the record for career hat tricks with Hood as each have six.
This season, Savage continues to be one of the top players in the Ivy League as her 10 goals and 26 points rank among the best figures in the conference. Savage's two goals against Yale during Homecoming weekend pushed her into double digits for the fourth time in her career. Her goal and point totals both rank fourth in the Ancient Eight with two weekends of play remaining.
The New South Wales, Australia, native is just one of four players from the Ivy League to have been selected for the 2014 NFHCA Division I Senior Game as Savage will be playing alongside Penn's Emily Corcoran, Princeton's Sydney Kirby and Lauren Skudalski of Columbia.
Savage and her Dartmouth teammates are back in action this weekend against Harvard and UNH. The Big Green and Crimson meet up on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Hanover in a contest that will serve as Senior Day for the four-member Class of 2015. They take on UNH in Durham the following afternoon at 2 p.m.
