ITHACA, N.Y. – The Dartmouth men's golf team holds a one-stroke lead at the end of the first day of competition at the Cornell Invitational. Sophomore Scott Jaster carded a two-over par 144 (71-73) at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course.
The course is a 6,904-yard facility with a rating of 73.1 and a slop of 137. Dartmouth shot a 298 in Saturday's morning round and finished with a 300 in the second round. Dartmouth's total of 598 was one shot better than Drexel's 599.
Senior Charles Cai tied for ninth with a three-over (74). Freshman Ian Kelsy tied for fifth and carded a five-over 147. Kelsy's second round of 72 helped move him 10 spots down the list from 15th. Classmates Edric Wung and Sawyer Shaw also competed and shot a seven-over (78) and nine-over (80).
Junior Dylan Rusk competed as an individual and sits in tied for 15th out of 78 other golfers.
Dartmouth will complete the invitational with a Sunday morning shotgun start at 8 a.m.
