QUECHEE, Vt. – After the first day of competition at the Quechee Country Club, the Dartmouth men's golf “B” team sits tied for fifth, while the “A” team is in ninth place.
Played at the historic and beautiful Quechee Country Club, the 11-team invitational played the first rounds on the Highland course – a par 72, 6,840 yards facility.
Hartford and Harvard own the lead after the first 18 holes and are shooting a team score of 289 (+1). Dartmouth's “B” team is tied with Princeton, carding a 299 (+11). The Big Green “A” squad shot a 303 (+15).
Paul Pastore from Hartford is on top of the leaderboard carding a 68 (-4). Dartmouth “B” freshman Edric Wung is currently second and one-stroke behind Pastore, shooting a Big Green low 69 (-3). Greg Royston of Harvard and Brandon Eng from Cornell are tied for third shooting a 70.
Dartmouth placed four other golfers in the top 20 after the first round. Scott Jaster, Charles Cai and Charlie Edler are all tied for 14th, carding a 74 (+2).
The Big Green also had a pair tied for 30th – Ian Kelsy and Sean Fahey – shooting a 76.
The final day of the Quechee Club Invitational concludes on Sunday.
