Big Green Men's Tennis Completes Day with 6-1 Win over Bryant

HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth men's tennis team won its second match of the day by defeating Bryant, 6-1, on Saturday evening. The 47th-ranked Big Green team began the day with a 7-0 victory over Buffalo.

As it did in the first match, Dartmouth swept the three doubles positions against Bryant to take a 1-0 lead in the match. Chris Kipouras and Dovydas Sakinis were the first to finish, winning their match against Ernesto Arguello and Nick Lamart, 6-2. Aman Agarwal and Ciro Riccardi recorded a 6-3 victory against Richard Sipala and Matt Kuhar a few minutes before Max Schmidt and Sam Todd wrapped up the sweep with a 6-4 win over Joshua Kiliger and Zachary Morris in the final match.

The Green and White won all but one of its singles matches. Diego Pedraza won his match against Oliver Welsh, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 3 to give the home team a 2-0 lead. Sakinis and Agarwal defeated their opponents with scores of 6-3, 6,0 and 6-2, 6-2, respectively, to give the Big Green their second victory of the day.

Max Fliegner added a 6-3, 6-3 victory at No. 4, and Sam Todd won his match against Lamart at No. 6 by a score of 7-6, 6-2. Brendan Tannenbaum lost a close match at No.2, 4-6, 6-3, 10-8, to conclude the day.

"I saw things that were better in this match than in today's first match," head coach Chris Drake said. "Starting the season 2-0 with wins over two good opponents is a positive step."

The Big Green will host Denver next Friday and Indiana on Saturday. Both matches will start at 3:30 p.m. at the Boss Tennis Center.
