Men's Squash Routes Drexel, 7-2

PHILADELPHIA — The No. 8 Dartmouth men's squash team secured its second win of the season on Friday by defeating Drexel, 7-2. The Big Green secured the matches at 5-1. The contest was played using a five court system with only two rounds of five matches.

In the first four games, Dartmouth took an early 3-0 lead with wins by freshman John Harvey (8), Junior Kyle Martino (4) and freshman Brian Giegerich (6). In the second spot, junior Alexander Greer lost in three games.

Sophomore Josh Renaud won the exhibition match 3-2.

In the final set of matches, senior Bayard Kuensell (9), sophomore Glen Brickman (7) and senior Mark Funk (5) won their matches in three games. Kuensell's win secured the 5-1 lead and the match for the Big Green.

Freshman Alvin Heumann (3) had the match of the day when he came from two games down and knocked off an experienced opponent 11-2 in the fifth game. In the finale, sophomore Nicholas Harrington (1) lost a hard-fought five-game match.

Dartmouth will return to action on Saturday when they meet Penn at 12 p.m.
