Dartmouth College

Day One

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Freshman Roko Glasnovic and junior Max Schmidt represented the Dartmouth men's tennis team in the qualifying draw on the first day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Championship on Thursday. The two Big Green players won both matches and advanced to the main draw.
In the first round, Glasnovic defeated Boston College's Aiden McNulty, 6-3, 6-1, while Schmidt had a 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 victory of Ludovico Cestarollo of Binghamton.
Later that day in the second round, Glasnovic took down NJIT's Lukas Zvikas, 6-0, 6-1. Schmidt followed suit by winning against Zvikas' teammate, Richard Rangga, and handing him a 6-2, 6-3 loss.
“It's great to bring two players to a qualifying event and have them both make it to the main draw,” assistant coach Tom Boysen said. “I am even happier with how they qualified. Both Roko and Max were willing to implement the things that we have been working on with them this fall. They trusted their games today, and that's a good sign as we move forward as a team. It is nice to have eight players in the main draw here.”
Both Green players advanced to the main draw, which will begin on Friday, joining six other Dartmouth main draw participants: Dovydas Sakinis, Diego Pedraza, Brendan Tannenbaum, Eddie Grabill and Max Fliegner. There will be one round of main draw singles and one round of main draw doubles throughout the day.
