Day Two

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Dartmouth men's tennis won one doubles match and three singles matches on the second day of the USTA/ITA Northeast Regional Championship on Friday.
“The guys did a good job today of processing information during their matches and using that information to improve their level of play, almost immediately,” head coach Chris Drake said. “If we continue to make these improvements day after day, we will be a very tough team to contend with next winter and spring. It is encouraging to see the level of motivation that our guys have to improve as individuals and to succeed together as a team to reach our common goals.”
In the lone doubles match of the day, junior Max Schmidt and sophomore Max Fliegner had an 8-5 win over Boston University's Jake De Vries and Jay Leelavanich.
Fliegner defeated Jonathan Carcione of Princeton, 6-4, 6-3, while Schmidt had a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Yale's Nathan Brown. Freshman Eddie Grabill picked up Dartmouth's final win with a 6-1, 6-1 defeat of Lehigh's Jack Petersen.
The Big Green will compete in the second and third round of singles and the second round of doubles on Saturday.
