THIS WEEK
Just twice this season will the Dartmouth women's hockey team play on a day that is not a Friday or a Saturday. The first time will occur this Tuesday, when the Big Green welcome Maine to Thompson Arena for a 7 p.m. non-conference tilt.
LAST TIME OUT
Dartmouth had a 1-0-1 weekend, hitting the road for the first time during the 2015-16 season. In the 4-0 victory over Brown on Friday, Laura Stacey led the team with two markers, finding the back of the net once in the first and again halfway through the third. Kennedy Ottenbreit scored the game-winner just 3:23 into the game, while Alyssa Baker scored her first collegiate goal at the end of the first. Lindsey Allen, Eleni Tebano and Brooke Ahbe were each credited with an assist. Between the pipes, Robyn Chemago earned her second victory of the year, making 22 saves. The next day in the 3-3 tie against Yale, Hailey Noronha, Tess Bracken and Kate Landers all ended the day with two points. Tied at one after the first following an Allen marker and one by Mallory Souliotis, the Green took a 3-1 lead following a goal apiece by Landers and Ahbe, but the Bulldogs tied things up with two third-period tallies. Dartmouth outshot Yale, 2-1, in overtime, but neither netminder allowed a goal and the game ended in a draw.
SCOUTING MAINE
The Black Bears enter Tuesday's contest with a 5-6-0 mark. After opening the year with a 4-0 shutout of New Hampshire, Maine dropped four straight to Boston University, two to Quinnipiac, and another to Boston College. The Black Bears turned things around to win four in a row against Merrimack, two against Brown, and one more against Providence. Maine has lost two consecutive games, a 4-2 decision at Vermont and a 3-1 game against eighth-ranked Northeastern. Brooke Stacey leads the team with six goals and four assists for 10 points.
LAST TIME AGAINST THE BLACK BEARS
Dartmouth and Maine played two games against each other on Dec. 8-9, 2012 on the Black Bears' home ice. The Big Green were victorious in both contests, winning the first, 6-1, and the second, 4-2.
LEADING THE WAY
With five games under their belts, Allen and Stacey are currently tied for first on the team with six points. Allen has four goals and two assists, while Stacey has a pair of markers and four helpers. The two seniors ended last season tied for the team lead with 26 points.
AND IN NET…
Starting netminder Chemago picked up a win and a tie over the weekend. She earned her first shutout of the season against Brown after making 22 saves. In the tie against Yale the next day, she made 25 stops. Through four games, the junior has made 109 saves in 290 minutes and has a .940 save percentage. Christie Honor made her collegiate debut between the pipes during the game against Clarkson, playing the first 17 minutes and making five saves. Dartmouth's third goaltender this season is Shannon Ropp, who has not yet entered a game.
