NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Dartmouth junior Nico Robinson won the heptathlon Friday at the Elm City Challenge hosted by Southern Connecticut at Moore Field House.
Robinson finished with 5180 points, beating out second-place Tyler Latham of Central Connecticut (5019). Sophomore Ben Colello (4868) was third, while freshmen Benjamin Ose (4765) and Matthew Sindelar (4332) were fifth and seventh, respectively.
Colello was first in the 55m (7.86) with Robinson claiming third (7.94). Robinson did get an event win in the pole vault by clearing 15-5.0/4.70m with Ose taking second (14-9.0/4.50m).
Colello also led the Big Green in the 1000m with a 2:47.02, besting the entire competition.
The rest of the Dartmouth track & field team will compete at Northeastern's seventh annual Jay Carisella Invitational at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
