Big Green Picks Up First Win at Franklin & Marshall

LANCASTER, Pa. – The tenth-ranked Dartmouth women's squash team recorded its first victory of the season by taking down No. 16 Franklin and Marshall on the road, 6-3.

The victory improves the Big Green to 1-1, while the Diplomats fall to 2-3.

Freshman Emma Roberts and junior Maddie Fraser got Dartmouth off to a solid start as each won their match 3-1. Senior Tori Dewey lost in three games, while senior Lydie McKenzie lost a close match that went to a thrilling fifth game.

With the scored tied 2-2, sophomore Janel Gaube swept her opponent 3-0, earning her first collegiate victory to give the Big Green the lead. Sophomore Zainab Molani took down Ellen Verry in four games while freshman Carly Rizzuto sealed the match victory for Dartmouth with a 5-3 win. Sophomore Rebecca Brownell ended the evening with a well-fought 3-0 victory for the Green.

Dartmouth returns to action today at 1 p.m. when the Big Green take on George Washington in Annapolis, Md.
