HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth sailing team got back into the water for the first time this spring. The team competed at a pair of regattas in the Mid-Atlantic. At the Graham Hall Team Race, the team posted an eighth place finish and at the St. Mary's Women's the squad finished ninth.
The Graham Hall Team Race, hosted by Navy, saw the Big Green wrap up with a 7-11 record. Led by skippers Deirdre Lambert, Ian Stork, Scott Houck and Charles Lalumiere and crewmembers Nate Greason, Madeleine Cooney, Sophie Kerr and Abigail Rohman the team finished ahead of Ivy League foes Brown and Penn. The College of Charleston took the top spot in the race with a 16-2 record.
In the other race of the weekend — St. Mary's Women's, The Big Green finished in ninth place with 273 points, 15 behind Stanford and 10 ahead of Rhode Island who finished 10th. In the A-Division race, Sarah Williams and Sophia Diserio secured 119 points, which was four behind Boston College and Georgetown. Bowdoin won the division with 51 points. Peggy Kilvert and Hope Wilson scored 154 points in the B-Division. The Polar Bears won the event with 147 points. Yale came in second with 156.
Dartmouth is slated to compete in three races next weekend (Mar. 27-28) —Zsambecki Team Race, Frills Trophy and Admiral Moore Team Race.
