BETHLEHEM, Pa. — 18 holes were completed on Friday and the Dartmouth men's golf team are tied for fourth with a 311 at the Ivy League Championship at the Saucon Valley Country Club.
Princeton holds a 10-stroke lead over the Big Green and carded a 301 for the overall edge. The Tigers are six strokes ahead of Columbia and Penn, who are both tied for second. Dartmouth is tied with Yale followed by Harvard, Brown and Cornell to round out the field.
Dartmouth had a good day as all five individual golfers are in the top 30 and are very close to the leader.
Freshman Edric Wung is tied for fourth and had a tremendous day on the par-72 course and shot a 3-over 75. He is three behind the leader Austin Powell of Penn, who is even through 18. Princeton's Michael Davis is second at 1-over and Yale's Will Davenport is third at 2-over.
Scott Jaster and Charles Cai are still in contention and are tied for 16th with a 78. Charlie Edler and Dylan Rusk are tied for 26th and shot an 80.
Saturday's second round will begin at 9:50 a.m.
