AMHERST, Mass. – The Dartmouth men's track & field team won the UMass Invitational with ease on Saturday afternoon, finishing the day with 166 points.
For the second week in a row, it was Brett Buskey leading the way as the senior won both the 100m (10.51) and the 200m (22.12) while also running on the Big Green's first-place 4x100m relay team (42.37).
Senior thrower Dom Filiano also had an outstanding day in western Massachusetts as he won the discus (146-9.0/44.72m) and finished second in both the shot put (50-3.25/15.32m) and hammer (163-8.0/49.88m), respectively.
Dartmouth also got event wins from Kyle Dotterer (14:51.00) in the 5000m, Max Cosculluela (15-5.0/4.70m) in the pole vault and Jonathan Beering (50-8.25/15.45m) in the shot put.
A wealth of second-place showings also helped the Green claim the team title. Those individuals who claimed second in their respective events were: Lloyd May (22.20) in the 200m, Phil Gomez (50.20) in the 400m, Jules Hislop (54.86) in the 400m hurdles and Jeremy Birck (6-5.0/1.96m) in the high jump.
The team wasn't just at UMass on Saturday with several members still in Philadelphia competing at the Penn Relays.
