HELLERTOWN, Pa. — The Dartmouth men's golf team took eighth at the 2015 Coca-Cola Bottling Company of the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Invitational on Monday, hosting by Lafayette at 6,518-yard, par-71 Silver Creek Country Club's championship course. St. Peter's of the MAAC won the event shooting a 23-over 591.
Dartmouth was tied for first place with Central Connecticut after the first round as both shot a 296. However, the Big Green struggled on the second day of play and shot a 315 and finished with a 43-over 611. Lehigh and the Blue Devils finished in second and third.
CCSU's Matt Hills ran the table on both days and shot a 1-over 143 (71-72).
Dartmouth's top finisher was sophomore Sean Fahey, who tied for 25th and shot a 73 n the first day and then a 78 in the second round for a 9-over 151. Junior Charles Cai carded an 11-over 153 to finish tied for 33rd. Senior Charlie Edler had a great round on Sunday and was tied for eight entering the final 18 holes, but he dropped to 39th with a 79 and an 11-over 153 finish.
Sophomore Scott Jaster had one of his best collegiate rounds on Sunday carding a 71. Entering the final round in first place, Jaster shot an 84 and fell to 42nd with a final score of 13-over 155. Junior Dylan Rusk was the final Big Green golfer and finished tied for 60th.
The Big Green will compete at the Princeton Invitational Apr. 11-12.
