HANOVER, N.H. — Freshman linebacker Ian Hanselman returned an interception for a long touchdown, and scooped and scored on an option pitch batted by David Caldwell for another tally as Dartmouth concluded spring practice with the annual Green-White game Saturday morning.
Starting quarterback Dalyn Williams scrambled and completed an 11-yard pass to Victor Williams in the back of the end zone on the first drive of the non-tackling game for the only offensive touchdown of the game. Corner Vernon Harris brought an interception back 82 yards for another touchdown.
Kicker Alex Gakenheimer booted field goals of 19 and 50 yards to round out the scoring.
Dalyn Williams completed 19-of-34 passes for 233 yards and the one touchdown with two interceptions, plus carried eight times for 52 yards. Freshman Jack Heneghan quarterbacked the second team most of the day and was 16-of-29 for 103 yards, also with two interceptions. He ran eight times for 23 yards.
Victor Williams led the receiving corps with six catches for 76 yards and the one touchdown while Ryan McManus had four grabs for 60 yards.
Freshman Ryder Stone carried eight times for 28 yards and Abrm McQuarters 11 for 28 as Dartmouth held out leading rushers Kyle Bramble and Brian Grove, both recovering from injury.
“It was the ones versus the ones and you're not tackling so you don't get a true idea of whether you broke a tackle or you made a tackle,” said head coach Buddy Teevens. “But I thought efficiency wise we did some pretty good things in all facets of the game.”
Added Teevens, “It was an efficient outing. We are not finished and it wasn't a game, but it was a step forward.”
