NEWPORT, R.I. — The Dartmouth women's sailing team finished its season on Thursday with a fourth-place finish with 237 points at the 2015 Sperry Women's National Finals on Narragansett Bay.
The Big Green missed the podium by three points, as Yale won the first place Gerald C. Miller Trophy, Boston College won the New England Women's Trophy with 228 points and Brown took the Ann Campbell trophy in third place.
After securing 61 points on the first day of the finals, the A-division finished third with 116 points, led by senior skipper Deirdre Lambert and junior crewmembers Lizzie Guynn (1-4) and Hope Wilson (5-18). Yale finished as the top team with 96 points and Boston College finished second with 111.
In total, the crew finished with five top three races over the two-day competition and finished the event with a bullet.
Dartmouth's B-division placed fourth with 121 points. Brown took first followed by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Junior skipper Sarah Williams led crewmembers Abigail Rohman (1-6) and Sophia Diserio (5-18). William's boat finished with six top three performances during the 18 race championship.
