SKILLMAN, N.J. – Dartmouth junior Taylor Ng appeared as No. 67 on the 2015 Oracle/ITA Collegiate Women's Tennis Division I Preseason Rankings that were released on Tuesday.
In addition to being nationally ranked before the season even starts, Ng and sophomore Kristina Mathis were selected for the 2015 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championship, which will take place from Oct. 3-11 in Pacific Palisades, California. Ng will represent Dartmouth in singles action and will pair up with Mathis for doubles play.
Ng had quite the season last year: she won all but one of her 23 singles matches throughout the five-month dual match season, playing nowhere but at the No. 1 position. Her highest national ranking to date (No. 40) came during an 11-match winning streak that spanned the first two months of the spring.
She was unanimously named the Ivy League Player of the Year, a first-team All-Ivy singles and doubles selection, the ITA Northeast Regional Player to Watch and became the first Big Green women's tennis player to qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship.
In doubles action last year, Ng and Mathis paired up at the No. 1 spot for 21 matches, winning all but five of them. The duo, which was nationally ranked for the majority of the spring, was victorious in all but one match against Ivy League competitors. To start the 2015 calendar year, the Big Green pair went on an eight-match winning streak, defeating four ranked opponents along the way.
Dartmouth will open the season this Friday at William & Mary, taking part in the three-day Tribe Invitational.
