SUNDAY'S GAME
The Dartmouth field hockey team returns to action after a week's hiatus with a Sunday afternoon home matinee against Princeton.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green are coming off a two-win weekend with home victories against Sacred Heart and Bryant. Dartmouth scored 11 goals in the two victories as they defeated the Pioneers, 8-1, before mounting a late-game comeback to defeat the Bulldogs, 3-2, 48 hours later.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Princeton comes to Hanover with a 2-4 record following a 3-0 loss at No. 9 Maryland in their most recent outing on Tuesday evening. Despite the record, Princeton remains in the national rankings, holding down the No. 20 spot this week. Cat Caro, Maddie Copeland and Hailey Catalino all have a team-high three goals through six games this season, but the Tigers' scoring leader is Sophia Tornetta with eight points on two goals and four assists. In goal, Anya Gersoff has 43 saves, a 2.90 goals against average and a .705 save percentage in nearly 435 minutes of action.
AGAINST PRINCETON
Princeton holds a 25-8-2 advantage in the all-time series after last year's 4-0 win in New Jersey. Dartmouth's last victory came on Sept. 17, 2011 with a 2-1 win at home. That triumph marked the end of the Tigers' 24-game winning streak against conference opponents and the first win for the Big Green in the series since the 2004 season. The loss to Dartmouth that day remains one of just three Princeton losses to Ivy foes since the start of the 2005 season (69-3).
HOME COOKING
Dartmouth will have played six of its seven games in the familiar confines of Chase Field after this weekend. Sunday's game marks the conclusion of the Big Green's second three-game homstand already. To this point, Dartmouth is 3-2 in five games in Hanover in 2015.
HAT TRICK
Against Sacred Heart, sophomore Julia Donald recorded the 47th hat trick in program history and the first by a player other than Ali Savage '15 since Sam Anderson '14 scored all three goals in a 3-2 win at Vermont on Oct. 23, 2013. Donald netted a trio of first-half tallies, while also assisting on another marker for seven total points in the first 35 minutes of Dartmouth's 8-1 win.
EIGHT IS ENOUGH!
The eight goals by the Green and White against the Pios were their most since an 8-1 win at Holy Cross on Sept. 23, 2012.
WHAT A WEEKEND
Senior Brooke Van Valkenburg also had a heck of a weekend for the home team against Sacred Heart and Bryant. In addition to two helpers against the Pioneers, she also sparked and finished Dartmouth's come-from-behind 3-2 win against Bryant two days later with two goals in the final 10 minutes. Van Valkenburg scored Dartmouth's first and third goals as the team erased a late 2-0 deficit to pick up the non-conference victory.
ON THE SCORE SHEET
As part of the offensive explosion at the expense of the Pioneers, sophomores Sarah Tabeek and Morgan Philie each notched their first collegiate goals. The tallies actually came just 57 seconds apart and built the Dartmouth lead to eight late in the game.
BACKSTOPPING
Paige Duffy picked up both wins on the weekend, making nine saves and boasting an .818 save percentage and a 1.17 goals against average in 120:03 of action. Freshman Hailey Valerio came into the Sacred Heart game in relief of Duffy for the final 19:57 and turned aside three of the four shots she faced.

WHAT'S NEXT?
