THIS WEEKEND
The Dartmouth women's hockey team will play its first conference games in over a month, welcoming ECAC Hockey rivals Colgate and Cornell to Hanover over the weekend. The game against the Raiders is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, while the Big Green will take on the Big Red at 4 p.m. the next day.
LAST TIME OUT
Dartmouth fell in its first game of 2016 to No. 8/7 Northeastern by a score of 5-2 at Matthews Arena on Saturday. Kennedy Ottenbreit scored the Green's first goal of the New Year late in the opening period and assisted on the second goal, netted by Tess Bracken in the third. Earning assists were Catherine Berghuis – who got her first point of her senior season – and Hailey Noronha. Although the Huskies led in first-period shots, 13-6, it was Dartmouth that struck first. At 16:15, Ottenbreit got the puck from Berghuis and shot from the right circle and to the left of netminder Sarah Foss. Robyn Chemago was on point during the first 20 minutes, stopping all 13 shots to keep Northeastern at bay. The Huskies pressured the Green and, as a consequence, scored three times in the second to take the lead. Kassidy Anderson had the tying goal at 12:47, Kendall Coyne got the go ahead at 17:50 and Denisa Krisova added another at 19:09. Dartmouth got one back at 3:12 in the third when Foss saved Bracken's shot but lost track of the puck as it slowly slid into the center of a wide open net, giving Bracken her first collegiate goal. Shelby Herrington and Coyne added one more each at 4:30 and 12:17, respectively, to close scoring. The stats were very even: the Huskies outshot the Big Green, 32-30, and both teams went 0-for-4 with the extra player. In net, Chemago had 27 saves, while Foss had 28.
SCOUTING COLGATE
The Raiders wrapped up the first half of the season on a high note, winning three straight to start January in a good position. After falling to Mercyhurst, 4-2, in its first of two games against the Lakers on Nov. 24, Colgate turned it around the next day to win the contest by a score of 3-0. The following weekend, a deflected goal 12 seconds into overtime gave the Raiders a 4-3 victory over No. 5 Clarkson and, to end the weekend and the year, Colgate had a 2-1 win over St. Lawrence. The Raiders opened the second half of the season a few days before their game against the Green, skating to a 2-2 tie against Syracuse. Points-wise, more than half of the scoring players have over 10 points. Bailey Larson leads the way with 18 (7G, 11A).
LAST TIME AGAINST THE RAIDERS
Dartmouth had a 1-1 record against Colgate in 2014-15, falling by a score of 2-0 on Jan. 24 before taking the Raiders down three weeks later, 5-2. The Big Green clinched a spot in the ECAC Hockey Tournament following the win over Colgate.
SCOUTING CORNELL
The Big Red were on a bit of a run as of late, winning four straight (including a huge 4-2 defeat of Boston University) before having that streak cut short with a 4-0 loss to Clarkson. Just two Red players so far have reached double-digit points; Hanna Bunton leads the group with 15 (8G, 7A), while Kaitlin Doering has 10 points (2G, 10A).
LAST TIME AGAINST THE BIG RED
Although the Green lost their first meeting to the Big Red, 2-1, on Jan. 23, Dartmouth turned it around with a 3-2 victory on Valentine's Day, defeating Cornell for the first time since the 2011-12 season.

In pre-tournament games, Canada defeated Austria (5-2), Hungary (8-0) and Czech Republic (2-0), with the Dartmouth senior finding the back of the net in the first game and assisting on a goal in the third. The Canadians continued with their winning ways with a 2-1 shootout victory over Sweden on Monday in the opening game of the Nations Cup and closed out the preliminary round schedule with a 4-2 win over Russia the next day. On Thursday, Canada won its 11th Nations Cup gold medal in the last 14 years with a 4-3 overtime victory over Finland.
