HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men's tennis team completed the third and final day of its only home tournament of the fall on Sunday, going 4-1 in singles and 3-1 in doubles action.
The Big Green went 25-8 overall: 17-4 in singles and 8-4 in doubles. Senior Max Schmidt and freshman David Horneffer both went 5-0 on the weekend, while junior Max Fliegner and sophomore Joey Haig were 5-1. Dartmouth was 4-2 in three-set matches and 3-2 in tiebreakers.
On the final day of the invite, the Big Green went 5-1 against Ivy League players. Throughout the three-day event, Dartmouth was 9-4 against conference opponents.
In addition to singles wins by Fliegner, Grabill and Haig, sophomore Roko Glasnovic picked up a victory over Amherst's Sun, 6-1, 4-6, (10-7).
In doubles, Horneffer and Schmidt defeated a duo from Yale in a very close match (8-7), while Haig and Fliegner had an 8-6 win over Amherst. Glasnovic and senior Diego Pedraza paired up to defeat a doubles team from Yale (8-6).
The Big Green will head to Philadelphia for the ITA Northeast Regional Championship, which will take place from Oct. 20-25 at Penn.
