PRINCETON, N.J. – The Dartmouth women's swimming and diving team concluded the 2016 Ivy League Championship on Sunday in eighth place with 532.5 points, just seven behind Cornell in seventh.
To start the final day of competition, AnnClaire MacArt earned 16 points by placing 11th in the 1650-yard freestyle (16:41.67), while Hayley Winter was 14th (16:48.70) and Olivia Samson came in 20th (17:02.94). In the 200-yard backstroke, Caroline Poleway was 16th (2:03.90) and Taylor Yamahata finished in 18th place (2:01.52).
Charlotte Kamai and Princeton's Claire McIlmail tied for 12th in the 100-yard freestyle (50.60), narrowly missing out on the Dartmouth school record. Laura Barthold swam in the C final and took 22nd (51.62).
Amber Zimmerman was the lone Big Green swimmer in the 200-yard breaststroke, touching in 20th (2:19.34). Poleway returned for her second event of the day, the 200-yard butterfly, and took 20th (2:05.53).
To end the championship, Dartmouth placed sixth in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:23.06). Made up of Kendese Nangle, Barthold, Zimmerman and Kamai, the Green out-touched Cornell in seventh by almost a second and a half.
