NEW YORK, N.Y. – Dartmouth women's swimming and diving closed out dual match season against Columbia on Sunday, falling to the Lions, 189-111.
On the 3-meter diving board, Allison Green placed fourth (249.00) and Lydia Jabs was fifth (184.81). Green went on to win on 1-meter (262.20), while Jabs took fifth (195.07).
In the 200-yard medley relay, Dartmouth's A and B relays finished within less than a second of each other. The Big Green's A relay touched in third place (1:49.26) and the B relay followed in fourth (1:50.12).
Hayley Winter and Olivia Samson led the way in the 1000-yard freestyle, with Winter taking first (10:32.47) and Samson finishing in second place (10:36.15), leaving over three seconds between her and the third place finisher. In the 200-yard freestyle, AnnClaire MacArt was second (1:53.99).
In the 100-yard backstroke, Taylor Yamahata finished highest for Dartmouth, touching in second place (58.21) and was followed shortly thereafter by Kendese Nangle in third (58.46). Megan Crook competed in the 100-yard breaststroke, placing third (1:06.02). A few events later, she came second in the 100-yard freestyle (52.41) and Charlotte Kamai was third (53.10).
Yamahata got another second-place finish, this time in the 200-yard backstroke (2:04.37), finishing just two tenths of a second out of first. Caroline Poleway was fourth (2:08.89), out-touching the next swimmer by almost five seconds. Crook took first in the 100-yard IM (58.99) and was the only swimmer in the event to go under a minute.
The Big Green took the top three spots in the 500-yard freestyle, being led by MacArt (4:57.86). Amber Zimmerman followed in second (5:01.90) and Samson came in third place (5:09.78). In the 100-yard butterfly, Emily Holt was the first of three Dartmouth swimmers to finish. She was third (58.72), Katie Altmayer came in fourth (59.68) and Grace Herron placed fifth (1:00.64).
To end the weekend, the Green took second and third in the 200-yard freestyle, with the A relay finishing highest (1:37.05) and the B relay touching soon after (1:38.10).
Dartmouth will head to Princeton, New Jersey, for the Ivy League Championship, which will take place from Feb. 18-20.
