NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Dartmouth men's golf team finished second at The Yale Spring Invitational at The Course at Yale with a combined team score of 596 (+35), just one stroke behind first place Bucknell at the par 70 course on Saturday.
The host school finished third with a 597, (+37) while Cornell finished fourth followed by Hartford to round out the top five of the one-day tournament.
The Big Green's John Lazor took home medalist honors, finishing as the top individual with a 143 through two rounds after the freshman from Westwood, Massachusetts shot a 70 in his second round on the links on Saturday. Lazor was able to handle the course's deep bunkers and rolling fairways for the strong finish.
Senior Charles Cai finished in a three-way tie for ninth place with a 149 (+9). Juniors Scott Jaster and Sean Fahey tied for 22nd with a pair of 152's in the 71 player field.
Dartmouth returns to the links for the Ivy League Championship next weekend in Jackson, N.J.
