PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The Dartmouth men's golf team finished in third place with a combined score of 598 (+22) at the Cornell Spring Opener in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Senior Charles Cai was the top individual for the Big Green after he shot a 72 in round one of the tournament and 69 on Sunday to finish three under par. The host school ran away with the title, as the Big Red shot a combined 569 (-7) and Temple finished second with a 594 (+18) in the three team field.
Dartmouth finished tied for second with the Owls after the first day of the tournament at 298. On Sunday, the Big Green shot a 300 in their final round on the links.
Juniors Sean Fahey and Scott Jaster finished ninth and tenth as Fahey shot a 147 (+3) through two rounds and Jaster finished with a 148 (+4). Junior Jeff Lang shot a 151 (+7) while sophomore Ian Kelsey finished with a 152 (+8) for 13th overall.
Dartmouth returns to the links next weekend for the Cabarrus Irish Creek Intercollegiate in Kannapolis, North Carolina.
