TULSA, Okla. – Twenty-third ranked junior Taylor Ng and sophomore Kristina Mathis of the Dartmouth women's tennis team fell to Arizona State's Alexandra Osborne and Ebony Panoho in the 2016 NCAA Doubles Championship Round of 32 on Thursday.
The No. 15 Sun Devils walked away with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over the Big Green pair to advance to the Round of 16 on Friday. The Dartmouth duo officially wrapped up its season with an overall record of 23-4.
“It was a great experience being in Tulsa and competing for an NCAA Championship,” head coach Bob Dallis said. “Kristina and Taylor represented Dartmouth with poise and passion. We are looking forward to next year. On the road to Athens, Georgia."
Ng and Mathis are the first Dartmouth doubles team to qualify for the NCAA Championship. Ng was the Green's first-ever qualifier, competing in the 2015 Singles Championship. The Big Green duo was ranked for the entirety of the season and had a four-match stint where they were sitting as high as No. 7 in the country.
