HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's tennis will open the fall portion of its season this coming weekend, heading to Virginia for the 24th annual Tribe Invitational, which is hosted by William & Mary from Sept. 16-18.
“We are very excited to start the 2016-17 season,” head coach Bob Dallis said. “This is the 45th year of Dartmouth women's tennis and the team and I are looking forward to making Dartmouth and our alumni proud.”
THIS WEEKEND
Since the 2013-14 season, the Green have opened the fall at the Tribe Invitational. The three-day tournament – featuring Dartmouth, Liberty, Marshall, Maryland, Old Dominion, Penn, West Virginia and William & Mary – will see each team play three singles and three doubles matches.

CAPTAINS
Dartmouth's two seniors, Taylor Ng and Jacqueline Crawford, will serve as co-captains throughout their final season on the court. Ng had an impressive junior campaign; she was named to the All-Ivy League First Team for singles and doubles, was the regional and national winner of the ITA Arthur Ashe, Jr. Leadership and Sportsmanship Award and qualified for the NCAA Doubles Championship alongside Kristina Mathis. Crawford was named ITA All-Academic last season, ending up with a record of 14-8 in singles and 12-8 in doubles, picking up four Ivy wins during conference play.
COACHING STAFF
Bob Dallis is entering his 15th season at the helm of Big Green program and his 29th as a Division I head coach. In March of 2016, following a win over UC Irvine, he picked up his 400th career victory, and he is currently sitting at 405 career wins. Dallis' assistant is Dave Jones, who is entering his seventh season in that capacity. Jones previously assisted former Dartmouth men's tennis coach Chuck Kinyon for 23 years.
2016-17 SCHEDULE
Dartmouth will take part in five tournaments from Sept. 16 – Nov. 6 (four road and one home event) before going on a two-month hiatus and returning to the court in January. The Green will open the spring with three straight home matches against Boston University (Jan. 21), Boston College (Jan. 28) and Purdue (Jan. 29), taking a break from dual matches to take part in the Courtside Classic (Feb. 4-5) and the ECAC Winter Championship (Feb. 10-12).
From there, Dartmouth will face William & Mary (Feb. 18) and VCU (Feb. 19) on the road and, on March 4, will host its last home event for an entire month. From March 18-24, the Big Green will be in California for Spring Break, playing five different opponents. They will return to the East Coast to open Ivy League play on the road against Harvard (April 1) and Yale (April 7).
Dartmouth will host Brown (April 9) and will be on the road for the last time, taking on Cornell and Columbia (April 14-15). The Big Green will host Penn and Princeton (April 22-23) to close the regular season,
