HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women's rugby team put forth its best offensive performance of the last two years Saturday at Brophy Field.
The Big Green crushed Columbia, 110-0, to improve to 3-1 this season and 2-0 against Ivy Rugby competition.
A dominating performance from start to finish, the home team held a 62-0 lead at intermission before adding 48 more points in the second half for the convincing victory.
In the last meeting between these two teams back in 2014, Dartmouth handily beat the Lions, 92-5. Incredibly, the 2016 team managed to improve on its 87-point win from two years ago with a 110-point shutout.
Junior captain Ashley Zepeda had three tries in the game, while sophomore Kat Ramage six successful conversions in the first half and senior Kendall Ronzano had four conversions and a try in the second.
In all, 13 different Dartmouth players touched down beyond the tryline in the game and Ronzano and Ramage combined for a varsity program-record 10 conversions.
The Big Green are back in action at home again next weekend, playing host to Harvard, another one of the Ivy's varsity programs. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
