PRINCETON, N.J. – Dartmouth men's tennis completed the third and final day of the Ivy Plus Tournament – its first of six consecutive invitationals this fall – on Sunday. The Big Green won three singles matches and two doubles matches, which were played at both Princeton and Penn.
Freshman Charlie Broom went 4-0 in singles action throughout his first weekend of competition to win his draw.
At Princeton, freshman David Horneffer defeated Collado-Casel of Penn State by a score of 6-2, 2-6, (10-4) and, later on in the day, he paired up with senior Max Schmidt to take down Collado-Casel and his teammate Lieb (8-4) in doubles action. Junior Max Fliegner and sophomore Roko Glasnovic also had a win over Princeton's Gamble and Day, 8-7(4).
Dartmouth won two of its three singles matches at Penn. Sophomore Eddie Grabill had a three-set win over Cornell's Lin, dropping the second set (4-6), but winning the first and third handily (6-2, 6-4). Broom had a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Soloman of Harvard.
The Big Green will host the Dartmouth Invitational from Oct. 7-9.
