Big Green Tripped Up on the Road at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – The ninth-ranked Dartmouth women's squash team fell to No. 4 Princeton, 9-0 at the Jadwin Squash Courts on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Big Green fall to 1-3, while the Tigers improve to 7-0.

Freshman Annie Blasberg had a strong showing against a tough opponent, ultimately losing 3-0. Junior Rebecca Brownell lost the first game, but came back to win 11-8 in a decisive second, before losing the third in a close tie-breaker. Brownell rallied back and played a strong fourth game, winning 11-8, forcing a fifth game, where she fell in the closest match of the afternoon for Dartmouth. Meanwhile, freshman Junnat Anwar lost her first two games, but fought hard in the third where she lost 15-13 in extra points.

In the second round of matches, senior Jacqueline Barnes played strong first and third games, ultimately losing to a talented opponent. Junior Zainab Molani tested her opponent in the first two games, before falling 3-0. Sophomore Emma Roberts dropped her first two games, but came back to take the third. She eventually lost her match in the fourth which gave the overall victory to Princeton.

Freshman Julia Potter got the third round started by playing a solid second and third game, but fell to her opponent. Junior Janel Gaube lost in three decisive games, but fought hard against a tough opponent. Senior Maddie Fraser was recovering from an injury and lost to her Princeton opponent in straight games, but put forward a strong effort.

The Big Green return to the court tomorrow morning at Penn
