PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The ninth-ranked Dartmouth women's squash team fell on the road at No. 2 Penn, 8-1 on Sunday afternoon.
In the first round of matches, freshman Junnat Anwar lost, 3-0. Although the match was decided in three games, Anwar competed well and pushed her opponent. Freshman Annie Blasberg lost in three in the No. 2 position, but had a close first two games. Junior Rebecca Brownell was the only win for the Big Green at the No. 5 position, winning through default after being up two games to one.
In the second round, sophomore Emma Roberts, junior Zainab Molani, and senior Jacqueline Barnes all lost 3-0, but had some good games and points. Barnes faced a very tough opponent in the No. 1 position, but fought hard throughout her match.
In the third round, senior Maddie Fraser had a good match for the No. 9 spot. Although she lost in straight games, she played well and tested her Penn opponent.
